Privacy Policy
This policy explains, in plain language, what this website collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is deliberately short, because we collect very little.

1. Who we are
This website is operated by YoYums Frozen Yogurt, a frozen yogurt shop located at 122 E High St, Jefferson City, MO 65101. We are the organisation responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us by phone on (573) 536-6119, or in person at the shop.
2. The short version
- There is no account to create and nothing to log into on this website.
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal information for advertising.
- We do not run advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies on this website.
- The only personal information we collect is what you choose to type into our contact form.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
If you use the contact form, we collect the name, email address and message you enter, together with the date and time you sent it. Providing this information is entirely voluntary — if you would rather not, simply call us instead. We ask you to confirm your agreement before the form will send, and we use the information for one purpose only: to read your enquiry and reply to it.
Information collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested — such as the page requested, the date and time, and a truncated or full IP address. This is used to keep the site online, diagnose faults and prevent abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you and we do not combine it with anything else.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect payment card details on this website. All purchases are made in person at the shop.
- We do not create advertising profiles, and we do not use cross-site tracking pixels.
- We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
4. Cookies and local storage
This website uses one piece of strictly necessary browser storage to remember whether you accepted or declined optional content. It contains no personal information. If you accept, we also load an embedded Google map in the Visit section; Google may then set its own cookies and receive your IP address. Full details, including how to change your mind at any time, are in our Cookie Policy.
5. Why we are allowed to use it
Where the law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on the following: your consent for the contact form and for loading the optional map (which you can withdraw at any time), and our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and working properly for the technical information described above.
6. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes. We share it only with service providers who help us run this website, and only as far as necessary:
- Our website platform and hosting provider, which stores the site and the messages sent through the contact form.
- Google, but only if you accept (or choose to load) the embedded map in the Visit section. Google then processes your IP address and any cookies it sets under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to do so, for example in response to a valid legal request, or where necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of YoYums, our staff or our customers.
7. Links to other websites
This site links out to our Facebook and Instagram pages. When you follow those links you leave our website and become subject to the privacy policies of those platforms, which we do not control. We encourage you to read them.
8. How long we keep it
Contact form messages are kept only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and are then deleted. Technical server records are kept for the short period our hosting provider retains them for security and diagnostic purposes. Browser storage recording your cookie choice stays on your own device until you clear it.
9. How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the small amount of information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to messages. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we keep what we hold to an absolute minimum, which is the strongest protection of all.
10. Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through the contact form, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Your choices and your rights
You can always choose not to send us information, to decline optional content, and to withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie preferences link in our footer. If you would like us to access, correct or delete the information you have sent us, contact us and we will help.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these include the rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our use of your information, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to request its deletion, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Missouri does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute. Where Missouri law does apply — for example, the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, which prohibits deceptive business practices — we comply fully, and we apply the standards described in this policy to everyone who visits, wherever they are.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and change the date shown at the top. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
